I was the producer for the pilot of Power Town Festival from the early inception of the festival to its execution. Funding was provided by the the West of England Combines Authority, The Arts Council and Nesbits.
I initially came on board as a consultant to scope out the music, activities and experience of the event. I hosted and attended consulting meetings with the core team, community leaders and businesses, suppliers and funders.
Once project progression was agreed, I created a production plan and started on curating the event day, experience and activities.
Throughout the pre-production and planning of the event, we had a small team so I was across a wide variety of responsibilities in addition to producing, including writing social media copy, social media management, marketing, booking talent/ being the artist liaison and asset creation, library organisation and distribution to socials, ticketing partners and promotional outlets.
My main priorities and responsibilities as a producer was creating and curating event day programming, budgeting, production plans, meeting and booking suppliers and vendors, creating event site plans, venue relations and contracts, paperwork and payments, event staff recruitment, artist and supplier contracts, tech specifications, community relations and involvement, getting posters, flyers, banners, signage and branded tickers printed, carbon offsetting, managing ticket distribution on selling platforms, logistics, site build and break down plans.
